For this reason, overset methods using overlapping grids are used to tackle these kind of problems. However, even though the overset techniques are very versatile, the transfer of information between overlapping meshes is an error source that can compromise the numerical solution quality. This work describes a new computational technique, that does not use overlapping meshes, but is instead based on local remeshing and makes only limited use of interpolation between different meshes. Algorithmic details of the aforementioned technique as well as two test-cases involving the separation of bodies in high-speed flows will be presented in this paper.

Read the full paper here

CARLO ALBERTO RASONI; ALESSIA ASSONITIS; RENATO PACIORRI; ALDO BONFIGLIOLI; ENRICO CAVALLINI; SIMONE ILLIANO; SIMONE PIZZURRO; SIMONE CIABUSCHI

DOI Number: 10.13009/EUCASS2023-037

[3766,993,3769
442,3889,3890
post-25464","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-1-aerospace-europe-conference-2023","category-events","category-3-cfd-multi-physics-simulation-in-aerospace","tag-cfd","tag-multi-body-separation","tag-overset-methods","category-3766","category-993","category-3769","description-off
["GET
