Dowell<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DOI Number: N\/A<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conference number: IFASD-2019-022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This document explores a \ufb02uid instability known as buffet, which occurs in the subsonic, transonic and supersonic\/hypersonic regimes. Buffet has been observed in experiments and various computational studies, and yet its underlying physics are not well-established. The goal of this study is to provide insight into various con\ufb01gurations which produce subsonic buffet and attempt to understand the \ufb02ow physics at play. Both Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) and Direct Numerical Simulation of the Navier Stokes Equations (DNS) simulations were performed.
