In a short introduction, the industrial context and the flow physics are recalled. In the following chapters, state-of-the-art prediction methods based on experiments and on numerical simulation are reviewed. It is shown that experiments provide data with a high accuracy but with a low spatial resolution, while numerical simulation provides data with a high spatial resolution but at a lower accuracy. In order to combine the advantages of each method, a new data-bridging process based on proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) is developed.
