To this end, two sharp cone-flare geometries, experimentally studied at CUBRC have been selected for study. Each geometry has been run at various conditions enabling a larger sampling for the various participating CFD codes and turbulence models. The nature of the physics found in cone-flare geometries are known to be extremely challenging for RANS CFD codes. This paper presents an initial status on this endeavor, describing the setups, conditions and general simulating strategies.
