The impact of these features on the surface heating environment gives<br>rise to key challenges that need to be overcome to allow sustained hypersonic flight. These challenges<br>deserve study due to the turbulent phenomena, i.e. promotion of transition and\/or heat flux<br>augmentation. Experiments have been performed in the Oxford High Density Tunnel to characterize<br>the effects caused by such small-scale surface features. This work presents an overview of the<br>numerical analysis undertaken to support these experiments. The agreement between the numerical<br>and experimental data is presented.
