CFD is not only relied upon in the aerodynamic shape definition but also<br>in engine related design tasks including intakes, compressors, turbines, nozzles as well as feeding<br>components. The different tasks are complementary to rapid engineering design tools and aim at<br>improving general in-house understanding, semi-empirical modeling capability as well as build surrogate<br>models. Furthermore, the affordability of CFD can be taken advantage of at much earlier stages in design<br>and development tasks. The versatility of such an endeavour requires a robust CFD solver capable of<br>tackling a diverse range of conditions, from subsonic to hypersonic, with associated physics such as<br>chemical reactions for ideal and real gases, multi-phase flows and conjugate heat transfer.
