G\u00fclhan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DOI Number XXX-YYY-ZZZ<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conference Number HiSST-2022-312<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the ATEK flight experiment, which was successfully launched on 13th July 2019 from the launch<br>site Esrange near Kiruna in Sweden, a robust data acquisition and storage system was designed, build<br>and successfully flown. Parts of the system are integrated in the 2nd stage motor adapter, the tail-can<br>and a hybrid payload structure. The 2nd stage had no telemetry downlink and no recovery system.<br>This implicates that at least the data storage system had to be designed to survive the uncontrolled<br>impact of the 2nd stage. In addition, the components in the open tail-can are closely located near the<br>nozzle and exhaust plume of the 2nd stage and have to be functional during stage burning and reentry. After the flight all vital data from the launch to the impact of the 2nd stage could be recovered<br>from the impact-resistant storage systems.
