This paper describes the design methodology for a plenum chamber in an intermittent blow down wind tunnel (BWT) used to test Ramjet engines. A plenum chamber is a common aerodynamic device in wind tunnels that stabilizes the flow, brings it to a positive pressure, and then delivers a more uniform flow distribution at the throat’s outflow. In this study, a Plenum chamber will be designed for an L-shaped wind tunnel to house a Ramjet engine with an inlet diameter of 395 mm at sea level. In addition, some air flow stabilizers (AFS) are integrated into the system to improve flow quality before it is discharged into the environment.
