New structural wing technologies like morphing structures, high aspect ratio wings or passive as well as active load elevation techniques have in common that flexibility is increasing within the next generation of aircraft wings. Therefore, the aeroelastic effects will rise and sophisticated methods are needed to develop and predict the aircrafts properties, load and overall behavior on a highly accurate level. The presented paper shows the work on virtual aircraft models and the application of high fidelity computational fluid structure interaction methods for the development of structural wing design on a high aspect ratio composite wing transport aircraft demonstrator.
