The purpose of this paper is to attract the specialists’ attention to the problem of computational and experimental investigation of gas-dynamics and aeroelasticity of aviation engines, taking into account possible compressor and fan elements damage from foreign objects penetration. Currently, it is possible to obtain the necessary information for such studies about possible blades damage not only by experiment but also by numerical modeling. The paper presents some results of computational and experimental studies of fan blades damages in a collision with pieces of ice. Tests were carried out by specialists of various CIAM departments with the authors’ participation in frames of the scientific research.
