Experimental investigation of the flow in a schematic rectangular air inlet mounted on a plate is carried out. The influence of leading edges bluntness and narrowing degree of the internal channel on the inlet starting and on the heat transfer inside it are studied. The experiments are carried out at two Mach numbers (M∞=5 and 8) and different Reynolds numbers Re∞L from 2.8×106 to 23×106 .
